Sustainability management
Our company is working on “CSV management,” and aiming to realize a sustainable society by solving social challenges through its core business.
This section reports to you MAEDA’s philosophy and management structure, which serve as the base for working on CSV.
System of our company’s principle
The company policy and foundation principle are positioned on the top of the values of our company. Our company regards [sincerity, desire, and technology] as company policy, believes [gaining a client’s confidence by doing a good job] to be a foundation principle, and considers as a fundamental principle of management the provision of all the stakeholders including the community and customers and end-users with quality giving reliability, a sense of security, and satisfaction.
All business activities of our company are conducted to realize the values. In other words, the purpose of our daily business is that executive officers and employees respectively seek “a customer’s satisfaction” from their own positions. Also, the satisfaction of customers, that is, stakeholders, involves mainly the degree of satisfaction with not only finished products but also the production processes.
Therefore, we established the “MAEDA Corporate Conduct Standard” and the “MAEDA Corporate Conduct Charter,” describing the content more specifically, to make a significant contribution to stakeholders and society through projects at all times. We are aiming at open management to obtain understanding and favorable responses from all the stakeholders.
We named the charter, standards, and various policies to implement and achieve the company policy and foundation principles the “Maeda Management Standards,” and the CSR of our company is based on them. Various policies relating to our projects are formulated and implemented based on these ideas and standards.
MAEDA management principle system and CSR system
Management system
Each MAEDA group company is promoting activities cooperating in the implementation of the MAEDA Corporate Conduct Charter and constructing CSR and a compliance system.
The “Council of CSR strategy” consists of the President, the executive officer of CSR Dept, the executive officer of CSV, and each division director. Matters such as the setting of target values and the reporting of the results are treated in the same way as the reporting of the management.
The content determined at the Council of CSR strategy is shared with the CSR Group, Corporate Planning Dept, and we give instructions together with those who are responsible for CSR / compliance in the head/branch offices and other related departments.
Council of CSR strategy was held two times in FY 2022.

The basic idea underlying all is human capital/human capability (human resource). |
Our company operates the management system toward realization of the foundation principle/company policy (as shown below). Based on the TQM that we introduced in 1983, we established the quality, environment, and occupational labor safety management systems (QMS, EMS, OHSMS) that conform to the international standards (ISO) and have operated the systems to maintain and improve Q (quality), C (cost), D (delivery), S (safety), M (morale), and E (environment).
The basic philosophy stated in the “MAEDA Quality Policy” and the “MAEDA Safety Policy.” which are our basic policies for manufacturing, are as shown below.
Multi-stakeholder Policy
As a member of the INFRONEER Group, our company intends to realize “A world where there is no limit to what can be asked from and what can be delivered by infrastructure services”- a secure, safe and sustainable society where the replacement and optimization of infrastructure services progress -, and view our various stakeholders, including shareholders, employees, clients, customers, creditors, and local communities as our partners for co-creating added values by “venturing together into the future of infrastructure services”(*).
Therefore, from the viewpoint that any added value created through appropriate collaboration with multiple stakeholders should be appropriately distributed to the multiple stakeholders, we will pursue the following approaches in terms of what should be returned to our employees or as consideration for our clients.
- (*)The INFRONEER Group defines added values as the sum of operating profit, total personnel expense, depreciation expense, and research and development expense, in order to achieve “spiral-up” of all of the following elements: contribution to society, sales and profit of the Company, salaries of employees, and return to shareholders, connected with each other, instead of having them improve independently.
Stakeholder engagement
MAEDA has a wide range of stakeholders.
The feature of the CSV management promoted by us is “to simultaneously solve social challenges existing not only in the company but also outside the company (equal to ‘in society’).” Therefore, we classify our stakeholders roughly into “the external ones” and “the internal ones (or those having a relationship very close to those of the internal ones)” in order to extract the social problems faced by each stakeholder.
